DJ Nkoh

The strains of House permeate the airwaves of Isipingo (Malukazi), for this is where the unique sound of
South African house music was born It is also the birth place of Arnold Nkombose Madlala a.k.a DJ
Nkoh who grew up listening to the rhythm of South African House. As a youngster Nkoh was crazy about
Pantsula Dance. But it was the music that captured his heart so much so that he could always be found
in his bedroom on his computer producing authentic Durbansounds. By the time DJ Nkoh was just 18
years old he was already well on his way to success in the music industry.
His big break through came when he collaborated with Lvovo Derrango on the track “Touch Let’s Go”
and “Izangoma” where his beats caught the attention of Kwaito group Skomplazi who invited him to
work on their album, One of the songs that came out of the Skomplazi collaboration was “Zulu Love
Letter” which went on high rotation on all major radio stations in 2009 encouraging Nkoh to produce
his own album.
In 2010 DJ Nkoh released his debut album which included a range of genres from Kwaito to Hip Hop and
R&B, and featured several well loved artistes like Lolo, Skomplazi, Ishmail, Da Les and Malik. Since then
DJ Nkoh has appeared on Yo TV, Sabc 1 Live Amp, on ETV’s Sunrise Show as well as on Soweto TV and
Dj on Jika ma Jika. Nkoh has also been heard on the airwaves on Ukhozi fm, Umhlobo wenene, Lesedi
fm and iGagasi 99.5fm. He is well known for his rockingsets at clubs and events that get people up on
theirfeet and dancing.
Nkoh has performed on the major platforms around the country which have included YFM events,
Africa Fashion Week,Dundee July, Ukhozi fm Nyusi Volume,Gumba Fest
Fact Durban Rocks, Uvukile Gospel Festival,GO WEST festival and the biggest events in South Africa,
the Umgababa Beach Festival,Essence Festival Durban,Umzumbe beach Festoval and he has been
travelling to other Provinces and Countries such as Bayimba Music Festival(Uganda),Lesotho ,
Mozambique ,and Botswana list is endless.
Nkoh has produced a range of hits for big recording companies and mega stars like

In 2013 DJ Nkoh produced Just That for the Big Nuz album Made in Africa which went on to become
the highest rotated song on every Urban radio station and in every main market club in South Africa.
In 2014 Nkoh collaborated with some big heads from Afrotainment on his single track DJ Nkoh ft Big
Nuz, Tira, and Joocy titled Abashana base...
