Bl4nk G4l4xy

Bl4nk G4l4xy is a dynamic Afro/electronic music project spearheaded by Musa Zwane and Hugh Davison. The duo's collaboration originated in the vibrant Jozi/Soweto punk scene, where they bonded over their shared passion for sonic experimentation, rhythmic intensity, and the DIY ethos.

Bl4nk G4l4xy's music fuses deep Afro grooves with electronic psychedelia, found textures, and poetic vocals. Drawing inspiration from the polyrhythmic genius of Fela Kuti, as well as the innovative sonics of Bonobo, Felix LaBand and BCUC, Bl4nk G4l4xy's sound is both grounded and celestial. Their music embodies a blend of raw energy and refinement, experimentation and soulfulness.

Musa brings his roots in Soweto's punk legacy, bass-driven live performances, and a penchant for genre-bending sounds. Hugh, with his background in punk, film scoring, and commercial music production, complements Musa's style with his own unique approach. Together, they craft music that transcends boundaries, creating a truly immersive experience.

Their latest single, "The Beauty," featuring Bongi Zwane and Sandile Mbatha, is a mesmerizing 3/4 Afro house meditation that celebrates the joy of music itself. This hypnotic and funky track is the first of three singles that will introduce the next evolution of the Bl4nk G4l4xy universe.
