Call for auditions: Freedom the Musical SA
The South African State Theatre (SAST) is calling on talented, creative and passionate individuals to audition for Freedom the Musical at it studios in Pretoria on 17 and 18 January.
Applicants who apply through agents will be auditioned on 17 January while the rest will try out on the 18th. Auditions will start at 10am on both dates and performances will begin from 21 April to 2 June.
Candidates are required to prepare a scene of the character they wish to audition for. The audition scene and songs can be downloaded via the SAST official website.
Requirements
SAST is looking for:
- Male lead between the ages of 20 and 26 years, Black, sings male soprano and knows how to rap. Young, hip, student with a strong personality. Leads most of the songs. Someone who leads the student movement.
- Female lead between the ages of 20 and 26 years. Black, sings female soprano.
- A supporting role for a female student between the ages of 20 and 26 years.
