Tsholo Maestro

Tsholo Moteka, is an arts curator based between Johannesburg and Soweto. Doubling up as a hands-on recording and live sound engineer, DJ, and multimedia creator who specialises in music storytelling and enjoys creating unique hybrid platforms that put local artists and communities first.

Over the past few years, he has produced artist development workshops, bespoke events, festival coverage, as well as editorial features for platforms including City Press and House On Magazine. These multimedia campaigns have created paid opportunities for various established and emerging talents.

His work blends rigorous reporting with cultural context to amplify artists’ voices and situate their work within broader community stories. Tsholo completed Arts and Photojournalism training through the Cape Town International Jazz Festival Training and Development Programme, which strengthened his specialist beat reporting, multimedia skills, and ethical approach to coverage. In 2019 he was awarded with a SA Radio Awards Bursary and completed an Advanced Certificate in Radio at WITS Radio Academy (2020).

In 2023 he established VIBE Creative Studios which is a multimedia hub based in Soweto, creatives and industry practioners to share ideas and insights on how to navigate the music scene.
