Best African hip hop songs of 2018
Hip hop is among the most recognised genres in Africa. Literally every country on the continent has its hip hop stars, some of them finding immense success through the lyrically laden idiom.
Hip hop is also the voice of the youth and is arguably the most 'vocal' when speaking truth to power or providing important social commentary, which Africa is in dire need of.
This year has been another great one for hip hop in Africa. We've had some amazing releases from every corner of the continent. Artists like Cassper Nyovest, AKA, Falz, Kwesta and Olamide released new tracks or albums, which have done pretty well on the charts. Hip hop is making a massive impact on the industry and is sure to keep growing into 2019 and beyond.
