Streaming platform Spotify has introduced a new in-app feature, Spotify 20: Your Party of the Year(s), as part of its 20th anniversary celebrations, offering users a personalised overview of their listening history.

The mobile-only experience is now available to eligible users in Nigeria and Kenya and provides a retrospective look at individual listening habits, including first streamed songs, most-played artists and overall engagement on the platform.
The feature presents users with a series of personalised data insights, including their first day on Spotify, total number of unique songs streamed, their first streamed track, and their all-time most-played artist. It also generates an “All-Time Top Songs” playlist of up to 120 tracks, complete with play counts.
Each user receives shareable summary cards designed for social media, allowing listeners to distribute their listening history across digital platforms.
In a statement, Spotify managing director for Africa, Jocelyne Muhutu-Remy, said the feature was designed to reflect the platform’s emphasis on personalisation.
“Spotify has always been about making listening personal. With Spotify 20, we’re giving fans in Nigeria and Kenya a chance to look back at the artists, songs and moments that have shaped their journey with us. It’s a celebration of discovery, nostalgia and the communities that form around music,” she said.
The launch forms part of Spotify’s broader global 20th anniversary campaign, which also highlights the platform’s most-streamed content since its inception.
According to Spotify’s global data, the most-streamed artists of all time are Taylor Swift, Bad Bunny and Drake. Bad Bunny’s Un Verano Sin Ti is the most-streamed album, while The Weeknd’s Blinding Lights and Ed Sheeran’s Shape of You are the most-streamed songs globally. The most-streamed podcast is The Joe Rogan Experience, while A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas is the most-streamed audiobook among Premium users.
Alongside the personalised feature, Spotify’s editorial team has curated playlists highlighting major musical eras, trends and cultural shifts from the past two decades. These are available through the dedicated Spotify 20 hub.
Users can access the feature by searching “Spotify 20” or “Party of the Year(s)” in the mobile app, or by visiting spotify.com/20 on mobile devices.
