Open call: FAME Shorts Film Festival 2026
Submissions are now open for the 2026 edition of the FAME Shorts Film Festival, which enters its fourth year as part of FAME Week Africa.
The submission deadline is 22 May.
The festival focuses on short films from Africa and the African diaspora, with an emphasis on storytelling that reflects lived experiences and creative exploration. Submissions are invited from filmmakers working across documentary, narrative and animated formats. According to the organisers, artists can also submit music documentaries.

FAME Shorts showcases films that engage with:
