‘Roju’ is a track characterised by colourful melodies and upbeat instrumentation, combining well with Crayon’s signature vocal style and lyrics. The production, paired with affectionate themes, reinforces the artist’s reputation for crafting good Afrobeats anthems.
Crayon first gained widespread recognition with his 2019 debut EP Cray Cray, which featured the hits ‘So Fine’ and ‘Gock Am’, earning him a nomination for Rookie of the Year at the Headies Awards. His breakout year came in 2022 with the release of ‘Overloading (Overdose)’ and the viral hit ‘Ijo (Laba Laba)’, which secured multiple award nominations, including at the Soundcity MVPs.
In 2023, Crayon released his debut album Trench to Triumph, praised for its sonic richness and honest storytelling. That same year, he won the African Fan Favourite award at the AFRIMMA Awards.
By the end of 2024, the Ojo-born artist had amassed over 195 million streams across platforms and featured on several collaborative projects, underscoring his growing influence in the Afrobeats scene.
