Top Ghanaian industry pros confirmed for The Showbiz Roundtable
Ghanaian entertainment industry veterans Rex Omar, Trigmatic, Panji Anoff and Sadiq Abdulai Abu, among others, will speak at this year’s edition of The Showbiz Roundtable forum slated for the Labadi Beach Hotel on 29 October.
The initiative, organised by Multimedia Group, provides an opportunity for crucial conversations surrounding the music business and pop culture in the country, drawing insight from top experts across art and culture touching on royalties, contracts, revenue streams for creatives and other thematic areas.
Hosted by broadcaster George Quaye, this year’s event is running under the theme Music Business and Tourism. It adds to existing platforms like the Showbiz Conference and the African Music Business Dialogue that have gained prominence in the past couple of years geared toward appraising the local entertainment space and promoting knowledge sharing among stakeholders in the value chain.
Celebrated highlife musician and president of the Ghana Music Rights Organisation Rex Omar has been confirmed as a keynote speaker alongside seasoned playwright James Ebo Whyte.
Organisers have also confirmed rapper Trigmatic, who was earlier this year appointed to the governing body of the National Folklore Board. Others are veteran music producers Panji Anoff and Hammer, creative entrepreneur and former 3Media Networks CEO Sadiq Abdulai Abu and Afro Nation Ghana festival boss and The Rave Group CEO Ruddy Kwakye.
“The Showbiz Roundtable is an important thought leadership platform that affords us the opportunity to not only inform industry but interact, share ideas and insights that are critical to the growth and progress of the creative industry,” Abu said.
