Higher Reign Music unveils distribution service
Canadian independent record label Higher Reign Music (HRM) has launched its self-distribution service called HRM Distro for indie musicians around the world.
The distro service offers non-exclusive distribution to more than 100 stores, payment splits and pre-save links. The platform also launched an artist support programme, which the company says provides artists at any level of their careers a reasonable deal with artist solutions to promote themselves and their music.
HR Music Distro includes the HigherLVL programme, which offers three different levels that artists can use to increase earnings after they distribute their music using the platform. HigherLVL offers exclusive distribution deals to musicians with an option to upgrade at any time, depending on the specific milestones an artist has reached.
“They arrive just as the artists need them to push further; not too early, not too late, but just-in-time,” HRM co-founder Antoine Regniere told Digital Music News. “This allows artists to not only optimise their gains but also to minimise their losses by better managing risk, which in turn translates into maximised profits and money going into their pocket all along their journey with us.”
After a musician joins the HigherLVL programme, they will get access to a team, which includes A&R, marketing, rights administration and other label services.
The programme also offers artists funding for different parts of their projects including touring, music videos, and advances on future royalties based on eligibility.
All artists using HR Music Distro will be automatically considered to receive funding. However, they will be identified through a selective process.
“The goal is to make this easy to understand to artists, so you gain different levels – just like you would in a video game,” co-founder Steeven Leblanc told Digital Music News. “You unlock more features and perks after achieving specific milestones. The better your songs perform, the higher the level you reach and the better your deal becomes – that simple.”
