The event will take place at Old Grey Sports Club, bringing together dancers from across the country in a competition format decided entirely by audience vote.
Defending champion Mason Booysen, known as Beasty, returns after winning the 2024 national title in Gqeberha and representing South Africa at the world final in Mumbai. The 18-year-old recently defeated his brother, Junior “Spidey” Booysen, during the regional qualifiers.
“He surprised me with moves I’ve never seen him do before,” Spidey said after their battle.
Among the contenders is Bloemfontein’s Relebohile Matiya, who became the first female dancer to win a regional qualifier in this year’s competition. She will compete on home ground.
Also in the line-up is Tumelwano Mofokeng, also known as Duppyy, who secured his place after winning the final Johannesburg qualifier. Cape Town’s Delron Davids and KwaZulu-Natal’s Lonwabo “Chucky Boy” Jele are among other notable finalists.
The remaining competitors include dancers from Johannesburg, Cape Town and Bloemfontein, representing styles such as amapiano, pantsula, krump, breaking and vogue.
The competition follows a distinctive format, with no judges or pre-selected music. Instead, dancers compete in one-on-one battles, with the audience deciding the winner of each round using voting cards.
The winner of the national final will represent South Africa at the Red Bull Dance Your Style World Final, scheduled to take place at the Hallenstadion on 24 October 2026.
Red Bull Dance Your Style is a global street dance competition held in multiple cities worldwide. South Africa previously hosted the world final in Johannesburg in 2022.
