Aubrey Qwana.
The song is an Afro-soul track centred on themes of love, partnership and emotional understanding. Its title, a Zulu term meaning people who understand one another or are aligned, reflects the song’s focus on mutual support and connection in a relationship.
According to the release material, ‘Omaqondana’ blends Afro-soul melodies with contemporary rhythms and tells the story of two people whose relationship is shaped by shared understanding and commitment through life’s challenges.
The single also marks a collaboration between Aubrey Qwana and Sqiniseko SqinQ, whose vocals are combined across the track.
Aubrey Qwana is known for combining Afro-soul, maskandi, Afro-pop and contemporary R&B, often singing in isiZulu. His music frequently explores themes including identity, faith, love and personal growth.
Over recent years, he has built a reputation for storytelling-driven songs and a style that draws on both traditional African influences and modern production.
‘Omaqondana’ is now available on digital streaming platforms.
