South African rapper Nasty C has released Free (Deluxe), an expanded version of his earlier album Free, marking his latest project as an independent artist.

The deluxe project is released through his imprint TallRacks in partnership with Platoon. According to the artist, the album continues the narrative established in ‘Free’ while introducing additional material developed during the same creative period.
The Durban-born rapper said the extended project was created because there was more material that fit within the original concept. The release adds new songs that explore themes such as ambition, personal challenges, relationships and self-discovery.
Speaking about the project’s development, Nasty C’s manager Ayanda Ngcobo said the rapper maintained a consistent work ethic despite facing difficulties earlier in the year.
“Despite having some challenges in the beginning of 2026, Nasty C never took his foot off the gas,” Ngcobo said. “His work ethic is relentless. He shows up every day with the same hunger, the same discipline, and the same belief in the vision.”
He added that the project reflects the rapper’s continued commitment to creating new material and engaging with fans.
Musically, Free (Deluxe) remains rooted in hip-hop while incorporating elements of melody and R&B influences. The album was developed over several years through recording sessions across different studios and creative environments.
Some tracks reflect the energetic performance style associated with the rapper’s live shows, while others adopt a more reflective tone. The project also features the single ‘Mi Amor’, which has been identified as a focus radio release.
Nasty C, who has built a strong following across Africa and internationally, has been recognised as one of the prominent figures in the continent’s hip hop scene. Free (Deluxe) continues his catalogue of releases that blend introspective songwriting with contemporary rap production.
