AmaGroove announces line-up for 2026 residency in SA
One Groove has revealed the official line-up for the 2026 AmaGroove Residency, scheduled to take place at the Kromdraai Impact & Co-Creativity Hub in South Africa from 22 to 29 March.

Now in its third year, the residency brings together international artists, producers, vocalists, and songwriters for collaborative sessions, cultural exchange, and music innovation.
The residency has gained recognition as a creative hub where participants explore diverse musical styles and co-create work that spans multiple genres. The programme is supported by AUTOR, The Riky Rick Foundation, the Embassy of Denmark in South Africa, Kromdraai Impact Hub, One Groove, and Msaki’s organisation ALTBLK.
The 2026 line-up includes both emerging and established artists from South Africa, Denmark, and beyond:
- Dhahabu (SA) – Pioneer of Tsonga Country, integrating African heritage and storytelling.
- Q2K (SA) – Genre-fluid vocalist blending ballroom nostalgia with pop, gqom, house, and alternative rap.
- Sandiile (SA) – Alternative R&B artist creating intimate, emotive soundscapes.
- Yolophonik (SA) – Producer and DJ combining alternative R&B, hip-hop, and house.
- Gemma Fassie (SA) – Singer-songwriter merging classical vocal training with contemporary pop and R&B.
- DrexxBeats (SA) – Afro-Tech and Tribal House producer.
- Jaya May (DK) – R&B and soul artist incorporating rhythm and percussion.
- Jonas Rendbo (DK) – Scandinavian soul artist bridging classic and contemporary sounds.
- GIMI (DK) – Pop musician blending MTV-era influences with electronic production.
- Fanny Wree (DK) – Producer and songwriter creating cinematic alternative pop.
- SSMA (DK) – Afro-infused R&B artist delivering energy through Afrobeats, Amapiano, and dancehall.
- FVN (DK) – Danish rapper known for sharp lyricism in her native language.
During the week-long residency, artists will participate in writing sessions, masterclasses, panel discussions, and wellness programmes designed to foster artistic growth. The residency will conclude with a listening session at Flame Studios in Braamfontein, Johannesburg, on 27 March, open to industry stakeholders, press, and a limited public audience.
Curators Msaki, Muneyi, and Mishy Kope will oversee the residency, guiding participants and providing cultural and artistic direction.
One Groove described the group as “fearless, curious, collaborative, and diverse,” reflecting the spirit of the residency and its commitment to fostering innovation in music creation.
