Kenya: Keemlyf shares Wallahi single
Kenyan Afropop musician Keemlyf has released a new single titled ‘Wallahi’.
The track, which is available for streaming and download on all major digital platforms, was produced by Supadrum Music in Nairobi.
The Afrobeats-leaning track tells the story of a romantic liaison forged under unexpected circumstances during a late-night revelry, capturing the essence of serendipitous love and the magic of human connection.
“‘Wallahi’ shows that love can be found in the most unexpected of places and at any given time,” Keemlyf said.
Keemlyf, whose real name is Nelson Asaeli, is an artist who is unafraid to explore new sonic dimensions. He continues to forge his own path in an ever-evolving music landscape through compositions that transcend traditional genre confines. In 2022, he unveiled his debut EP No Label and its follow-up Six Deep.
The independent artist is the co-founder of the collective Only The Great, which aims to foster creativity and collaboration within the artistic community. He cites Kenyan artists Redsan, Nameless and Nyashinski as well as American singers Chris Brown, Trey Songz, Tory Lanez and Usher as his early influences.
