Call for applications: IMB music business scholarships in Spain
The International Music Business School (IMB) in Spain, in collaboration with several major music companies, is calling on interested music professionals to apply for a scholarship to study the Executive Diploma in Music Business Innovation course in the 2022-23 academic year.
The call is aimed at professionals and students with industry backgrounds who want to boost their careers and take on a role of responsibility within the live music business.
IMB and Primavera Sound will provide six full scholarships as well as six partial scholarships for the course. The full scholarship is particularly aimed at talented candidates who, for financial reasons, have serious difficulties in enrolling in the 22-23 Challenges module despite their strong motivation and determination.
The diploma is designed to showcase the students’ skills and help them build connections with leading companies including YouTube, Sony Music, Warner Music Group, and Primavera Sound. The institute says the programme is the first of its kind which is based on the real future challenges of its partner companies.
The programme will see each of the global partners from different sectors pose six future-oriented challenges. Throughout the course, students will learn the principles of innovation, visualise the impact of new technologies, practice pitching their proposals to the management teams, and gain other crucial skills for leading an ever-expanding music business.

IMB is one of the first schools specialised in music business training, with more than 15 years of experience offering training. Last year, the programme gathered students of 12 different nationalities and diverse professional backgrounds.
“We place students in a position where, for the first time, they could be the source of inspiration and valuable solutions for the whole music sector,” IMB director David Loscos said.
“The solutions contain ideas and takeaways for us to think about,” Sony Music said: “The processes used for the deep dive understanding, the way students have generated ideas and the presentation of the projects itself have all been outstanding. It is impressive to see how such a young talent group with just some lines of information can make a return so close to our reality and real needs.”
