Call for applications: DOADOA 2017
Volunteers wishing to work at this year’s East African Performing Arts Market (DOADOA) have until Wednesday 15 March to apply, while those who want to join the event as delegates or exhibitors have until 15 April.
The sixth edition of DOADOA is slated for the 3-6 May at the Uganda Museum in Kampala. Applications for speakers, panelists and showcase artists have already closed.
DOADOA is an annual networking platform that gives stakeholders in the music industry and performing artists an opportunity to exchange knowledge and experience. The forum is also intended to promote East African content to the international market.
There will be discussions, seminars and practical training workshops by experts from the region and abroad as well as informal networking sessions, mentorship opportunities and showcases by selected artists.
An initiative of the Bayimba Cultural Foundation, DOADOA 2017 is supported by IIDEA. Strategic partners include leading creative enterprises like Music In Africa, Phat! Music & Entertainment (Kenya), Ketebul Music (Kenya), Busara Promotions (Tanzania), Sarakasi Trust (Kenya), Caravan Records (Tanzania), KigaliUp! (Rwanda), Selam Music (Ethiopia) and Le Reve Africain.
Entry to DOADOA is by preregistration. A registration fee of 50 000 Ugandan shillings ($14) allows access to the daytime conference as well as the evening showcase programme and exhibition.
Participants are expected to facilitate their own travel and accommodation. Selected speakers/panelists and showcase artists are exempted from the registration fee.
