Call for applications: Fête de la Musique Joburg 2021
The organisers of Fête de la Musique festival are calling on artists to apply for the 2021 edition of the event in Johannesburg, South Africa, on 19 June.
The festival will be held in five different venues in the city.

Interested artists should download an application form here and prepare the following material:
- Biography.
- Photos.
- Technical rider.
- Sound clips.
- Videos and press kit.
The application should be sent to fetedelamusiquejoburg@gmail.com.
The submission deadline is 12 May.
“As like many other live events in 2020, the Fête de la Musique couldn’t happen last year,” the organisers said. “In 2021, Fête de la Musique is back in full force with a new and exciting set-up. This will allow more intimate concerts, with smaller crowds while continuing to celebrate free music for all to enjoy.”
“Therefore, we are calling for musicians, DJs and bands from all music genres, amateur and professional, to apply to perform in this year’s festival and join in the spirit of the Fête de la Musique.”
Fête de la Musique was founded by former French minister of Arts and Culture Jack Lang and French composer and music journalist Maurice Fleuret in 1982. The festival is now celebrated in more than 120 countries around the world.
Artists who have performed at Fête de la Musique in Johannesburg include Samthing Soweto, Vaudou Game, Nakhane, BLK JKS, Urban Village, BCUC and Msaki.
