Call for applications: Democracy Needs Imagination grant
The European Cultural Foundation (ECF) is accepting applications for its Democracy Needs Imagination action grant.
The proposed projects should address the recent rise in nationalism, isolation, separatism and hate speech targeted at those who are fighting inequalities. These attributes are becoming common in Europe making people feel polarised and powerless.
"The European Cultural Foundation launched the Democracy Needs Imagination action grant to counteract this radicalisation," ECF says. "Our firm belief that most Europeans don’t want to live in unequal, polarised, undemocratic societies was confirmed by the sheer number of applications we received in response to our call."
"We want to support people who are working for European democratic values. People who are fighting for their rights as citizens, for their right to public space and personal freedoms, and their right to creative expression. We are looking for individuals or organisations working at a local, national or transnational level.”
