A’Kee

Born in Kwanza-zul, Angola to Namibian parents, A’Kee (real name Anna Haikango) is a female Namibian hip-hop artist who made her first appearance in the music industry with the launch of her debut album ‘Arrival of the Queen’ in 2008. She went on sabbatical for five years and came back with the release of her second album, ‘Ohatukafika’, in November 2012. She worked hard to raise funds for her second album, a fusion of hip-hop and Afro-pop genres. In 2013, she released her third album, ‘Coming Home’. In 2014, her song ‘Esiku’ (taken from her third album) was nominated in the Namibia Annual Music Awards (NAMA). Besides music, A’Kee is a graduate from the Polytechnic of Namibia.
