Call for applications: Voice Factory Ghana
Ghana’s Citi media group has made a call for entries ahead of its music talent search show, Voice Factory.
Interested persons are required to visit the Citi newsroom website. A form can be accessed upon clicking the Voice Factory image on the site.
Filled and submitted forms will be accepted and confirmation sent to the participant’s phone number or email address.
"The 4th edition of the competition, which was previously aired on Citi 97.3 FM, is meant to unearth music talents and put them in the limelight," the organisers said in a statement.
Candidates are required to:
- Bring printed artist audition email/code and come along with a photo ID.
- Be 18 to 24 years old.
- Please prepare two (2) songs for an open call audition. Only one song will be performed; a second song might be requested.
- Sing only acapella at the auditions (no background tracks, no accompaniment, no instruments).
- Choose songs in any genre (pop, rock, R&B, hip-hop, alternative, Latin, country, blues, indie).
- Choose songs that do not contain lyrics which is sexually explicit, obscene, pornographic, violent (for example, relating to murder, weapons, cruelty, abuse, etc.), discriminatory (based on race, sex, religion, national origin, physical disability, sexual orientation or age), illegal (for example, underage drinking, substance abuse, computer hacking, etc.), offensive, threatening, profane or harassing.
- Pick songs that fit their voice and best represents them as artists.
- Know that family, friends, managers, vocal instructors, etc. will not be allowed at the audition.
- Come dressed in a style that represents them as artists.
The first 200 entries will be considered for the audition which is scheduled for Saturday 4 May at the Citi TV offices in Accra. Ten applicants will be shortlisted for the finale, in which the ultimate prize is GHc10 000 (about $2 000).
