Kailala Gova Traditional Ceremony

Kailala Gova Traditional Ceremony is an annual event held by Chieftainess Chiawa Kafue Goba Kailala in September. The event is held in chieftainess Chiawa’s area. In 2008, the event was cancelled due to a poor harvest as they had nothing to present to their ancestral spirits. The ceremony is meant to thank ancestral spirits for the harvest of a particular year. A number of activities such as singing of traditional songs, dancing and beating of drums take place at this event.
