Andereya Baguma is a Ugandan Afro-fusion artist, a captivating singer, songwriter, and a guitarist whose music transcends borders. His journey began amidst the vibrant energy of Kampala's Kamwokya slums, evolving through rigorous training at Makerere University, culminating in a Bachelor of Arts in Music. This unique blend of raw, lived experience and academic discipline infuses his sound with an unparalleled depth and authenticity.
As the founder of Nze Music, an A&R, booking, and management firm, Andereya is a passionate advocate for authentic and unique African music, dedicated to showcasing its rich tapestry to the world. A celebrated Penda Uganda Song Contest winner, his critically acclaimed debut solo album, "Andereya," launched at the prestigious Uganda National Cultural Centre, a testament to his burgeoning influence.
Andereya's artistry has resonated on both local and international platforms, from the intimate settings of Sofar Sounds to the grand stages of the Pearl Rhythm Festival, Jamafest,, and Ethno Music in Malawi. His cross-cultural collaborations, notably the "Conversations" EP with American singer-songwriter Kate Bass, exemplify his adventurous spirit and ability to make connections through music.
Beyond his performance career, Andereya is a visionary cultural curator. He is the founder and host of "Endongo Munsiko," a unique music festival celebrating nature, African music, and tourism, and "Embozzi Z’ekyoto," a compelling concert series that weaves storytelling through spoken word and music around a bonfire. His music has also reached wider audiences through features on the "Sanyu" TV series, and collaborations with Nkoza and Nankya Films. Most recently, he served as Music Director for the "Adungu Tale Musical" by Bantu Arts UK, showcasing his diverse musical talents.
