Wouter Kellerman, David Arkenstone release immersive album Pangaea: Immersive Realms
Three-time Grammy Award-winning flautist, producer and composer Wouter Kellerman has collaborated with Grammy-nominated composer David Arkenstone on a new album titled Pangaea: Immersive Realms, which has been released following the lead single ‘Ungana’.

The album arrives shortly after Kellerman was awarded the Order of Ikhamanga in Gold by South African President Cyril Ramaphosa, in recognition of his contribution to music, cultural diplomacy and community development.
Pangaea: Immersive Realms is an expanded, immersive reinterpretation of the pair’s 2021 collaborative album Pangaea. The project draws inspiration from the ancient supercontinent and explores themes of unity and coexistence through cinematic composition and layered instrumentation designed for immersive audio formats.
Kellerman said the development of the immersive version followed a long-standing professional relationship with sound engineer Morten Lindberg. “I have been in close contact with Morten Lindberg, one of the top immersive engineers in the world, for many years, and I have a lot of respect for both his immersive engineering skills and musical artistry,” he said. “I was very excited when the stars finally aligned for us to work together.”
He also described the original album as particularly significant in his catalogue. Kellerman said Pangaea is “some of my best work, and probably my most cinematic album,” adding that it was a natural candidate for reinterpretation in an immersive format.
The project’s subtitle, Immersive Realms, refers to its focus on spatial sound design intended to create a surrounding listening experience. The production incorporates multi-layered instrumentation and cinematic structures aimed at stimulating a three-dimensional audio environment.
“It takes listeners on a deeply cinematic journey into a beautiful world filled with colour, wonder and fantasy,” Kellerman said. “The immersive format allows the music to surround the listener in a way that feels both expansive and intimate.”
According to Kellerman, the album is intended to convey themes beyond music alone. He described it as a reflection on connection and shared humanity across cultural and geographical boundaries.
“I hope listeners feel the positive energy we’re trying to send into the world,” he said, “and that the music brings a sense of harmony, peace and togetherness to their day.”
Pangaea: Immersive Realms is available on major streaming platforms. The release follows Ungana, featuring Mbuso Khoza, which introduced the project’s immersive direction.
