Born Mothibedi Katlego Sehata in Mamelodi, Pretoria, Gauteng, South Africa, Thibe Da King (formerly known as Thibe Da Kid) is a South African rapper, singer, songwriter, and producer known for his sharp lyricism, creative storytelling, and authentic representation of Pretoria’s hip-hop culture. Raised in Nellmapius, Thibe developed a passion for music, art, comics, and gaming from an early age, using creativity as both an escape and a form of self-expression.

His musical journey intensified after a life-changing leg injury during his university years, pushing him to fully commit to his craft. After initially performing as part of the hip-hop duo Complex, he launched his solo career with his debut mixtape Childsplay: Kindergarten Misfit in 2014, followed by the EP Weirdo, which earned him major media exposure. His single “Bravo” gained rotation on platforms like Trace and Channel O.

As founder of Dreamcartel, Thibe continues to build independently, sharing stages with artists such as Cassper Nyovest, Kwesta, and Riky Rick, while cementing his place as one of Pretoria’s respected voices in hip-hop.
