Asake announces fourth studio album M$NEY, set for release on 1 May
Nigerian Afrobeats artist Asake has announced the release of his fourth studio album, M$NEY, which is scheduled to arrive on 1 May via EMPIRE.
Asake.
The announcement was accompanied by a video showing the creation of a marble sculpture in the artist’s likeness by Iraqi-Dutch sculptor Athar Jabar. The footage documents the process of carving the piece, which the artist described as a deliberate and traditional work.
Jabar said the project required a careful approach given Asake’s public profile.
“Working on the likeness of someone whose presence is so widely recognised brings a particular responsibility,” Jabar said. “That’s why, for this sculpture of Asake, I chose the prestigious Statuario marble from Carrara, Italy, and carved the entire piece by hand, following traditional methods without the use of power tools, in a slow and deliberate process.
“It was a real pleasure to carve a portrait bust of Asake, and an honour to contribute to this moment in his career, as well as to a lasting record of his image in marble.”
The album is available for pre-save via album.money. M$NEY follows a series of recent singles released by the artist, including ‘WHY LOVE’ and ‘BADMAN GANGSTA’ featuring Tiakola in 2025, as well as the collaboration ‘WORSHIP’ with DJ Snake.
Asake’s label described the project as reflecting his evolving sound and continued influence within Afrobeats, which has gained increasing global reach in recent years. Further details, including the tracklist, are expected to be released ahead of the album launch.
