The Department of Sport, Arts and Culture has announced the completion of the adjudication process for the 2026/27 Mzansi Golden Economy (MGE) Open Call.
Applicants wishing to appeal the outcome may submit signed written motivations to the department within 30 days.
According to the department, successful applicants under the Touring Ventures and Cultural and Creative Projects workstreams were formally notified on 21 April.
The department said funding agreements with approved applicants will depend on the submission and verification of all required compliance documents. View the approved projects here.
Applicants may be disqualified under several conditions, including:
- Failure to disclose actual or perceived conflicts of interest.
- Failure to declare existing funding received for the same project or ongoing work undertaken for the department.
- Applications from individuals, companies or directors previously found non-compliant on earlier DSAC-funded projects.
- Applications submitted by government employees, public entities, immediate family members of government employees, or state institutions such as schools and universities, in line with Treasury regulations.
- Applications submitted by non-South African citizens, companies or organisations.
The department said unsuccessful applicants will receive written feedback explaining the reasons for their applications being declined by 30 May 2026.
Applicants wishing to appeal the outcome may submit signed written motivations to the department within 30 days of receiving their notification letters. The department stated that appeals must be based only on documents originally submitted during the application process, and no additional supporting material will be accepted.
