Cornelius SA.
Isgubhu is Apple Music’s editorial platform dedicated to African dance music, showcasing producers, DJs and emerging talent across genres such as Afrohouse, 3-step, gqom and electronic music.
Cornelius SA, known within South Africa’s electronic music scene for his selection-led DJ style, said his approach prioritises music over profile or recognition.
“The first track is my most recent and first release of 2026, ‘Tropical Island’ featuring Gee Skillz,” he said. “I felt it would be great to have it introduce this mix, followed by brand new tracks I really like from emerging artists. For me, the music always comes first. If it’s good enough, I can play it on every mix and set to help get it out there.”
He described the overall sound as “Stronergetic strong and energetic altogether.”
The mix features Afrohouse and electronic selections alongside contributions from a range of artists including Arodes, LMichael, Zano and AVÖ, reflecting what Apple Music describes as a growing ecosystem of club-focused African electronic music.
The tracklist includes collaborations and remixes such as ‘Tropical Island’, ‘Color The Sky’, ‘Make It Smooth’ and ‘Gwele (Extended Mix)’, alongside contributions from international and regional electronic producers.
Isgubhu forms part of Apple Music’s wider African dance music offering, which also includes curated playlists, DJ mixes and editorial content aimed at highlighting developments in the continent’s club culture.
The Cornelius SA mix is available exclusively on Apple Music alongside the Isgubhu playlist.
