Bryan K reimagines ‘Vane Hanya (Jesu Wedu)’ ft. Hillview students
Zimbabwean music producer and recording artist Bryan K has released a new rendition of the gospel song ‘Vane Hanya (Jesu Wedu)’, featuring students from Hillview Christian College.
Bryran K.
The song, widely recognised for its message of faith and reassurance, has been reworked to combine Bryan K’s lead vocals with choral harmonies performed by the students. It is regarded as a familiar piece among audiences who grew up singing it, and the new version aims to reinterpret it for a younger generation.
An accompanying music video was filmed on the Hillview Christian College campus in Domboshava, with additional scenes shot on a nearby mountain. The visuals depict student life and group activities, alongside outdoor sequences intended to reflect the song’s themes.
Bryan K said the project was influenced by the song’s longstanding cultural significance and the role of young people in creative expression.
“This is a song many of us grew up singing, so it carries a lot of meaning. Bringing it into this space, with young voices, felt like giving it new life — like passing something timeless from one generation to the next,” he said.
He added that encouraging creativity among students remains important. “We’re living in a time where all skill sets matter, but creativity is becoming one of the most important. It builds confidence, it shapes identity, and it allows young people to find their voice.”
“This project is just the beginning. It’s the first of many I hope to build with students — creating spaces where they can be seen, heard, and inspired,” he said.
The song and its video have been released on digital platforms.
