The EP was executive produced by Lucasraps alongside Ca$h Khali and features a sound built around live instrumentation, spacious production and lyric-driven hip hop. According to the release material, the project aims to present a more focused and deliberate artistic direction.
A key track from the EP, “FYF” featuring Geek Fam, is leading the project’s visual rollout, with a music video campaign under way. Another track, ‘eGoli’, was released on 13 March as an early preview of the EP.
Y.O.G is now available on major streaming platforms.

In October 2016, he performed alongside rapper Nasty C at the East Coast Radio Huawei Durban Day event. The following year, he received a Best Collaboration award with Mystik Liyon.
Lucasraps was also a member of the rap group BLVCKBEAR, alongside Prodigee, Mystik Liyon, Leeroy “The Messiah” and Chris Snakes. In 2018, he left school to pursue music full-time and later signed to BlaqBoy Music through DJ Maphorisa.
The release of Y.O.G adds to Lucasraps’ growing catalogue as he continues to develop his sound within South African hip-hop.
