Open call: Namibian Heritage Day Festival performers
The Lukopane Kulturverein has launched an open call for Namibian performers to participate in its second annual Namibian Heritage Day Festival, scheduled to take place in Hovelhof, Germany, from 19 to 21 June 2026.
The festival provides a platform for artists and cultural groups to showcase their talents and heritage in a cross-cultural exchange.

Lukopane aims to connect the Namibian diaspora with opportunities for socio-economic growth while promoting cultural awareness and collaboration between Namibia and Germany.
Festival objectives
Lukopane focuses on bridging gaps across multiple sectors, including:
- Sports, arts and culture
- Education and innovation
- Trade and economic development
- Food production, environment and tourism
- Health and social welfare
“By connecting with the diaspora, Lukopane hopes to create a platform for sharing ideas, resources, and expertise, to drive bilateral collaboration and unlock opportunities for economic and social growth,” the association said.
The festival will feature music, traditional food, cultural performances, games, and other activities designed to celebrate Namibian heritage and community.
Who can apply
The call is open to:
- Namibian artists
- Cultural groups
- Musicians, dancers and storytellers
- Participants of all ages, based in Namibia or abroad
The deadline for applications will be announced closer to the event. Artists are encouraged to submit their applications as early as possible.
