The performance forms part of the tour promoting his album Ng’funa Intozami and is expected to attract maskandi fans from across Gauteng. The event will take place at the Big Top Arena, a venue located within the Carnival City Casino and Entertainment Complex, one of the region’s major entertainment hubs.
Mzukulu is known for combining traditional maskandi instrumentation with contemporary stage performance, often drawing on themes such as identity, relationships and everyday experiences. His live shows typically highlight the storytelling elements that define the genre.
Organisers say the Johannesburg stop will feature a theatre-style production with live musicians and arrangements that reflect maskandi’s traditional rhythms while presenting the music in a modern concert setting.
Doors for the event will open at 15:00, with the performance scheduled to begin at 16:00. Tickets are priced from R300 and are available through official ticketing platforms.
The concert forms part of a broader tour that continues to showcase maskandi music on larger stages, reflecting the genre’s growing popularity in South Africa’s live music circuit.
