Open call: Global Music Awards 2026
The Global Music Awards has opened its annual entry period, inviting musicians from across the world to submit work for consideration in multiple categories. The competition, established in 2011 by Thomas Eugene Baker, is an international music event that focuses on recognising independent artists based on the merits of their music rather than commercial success or fan base size.
Gambian kora player, singer, and percussionist Suntou Susso was awarded the Gold Medal at the Global Music Awards.
The awards have been described by industry sources as “music’s golden seal of approval”, reflecting their reputation among some music professionals for recognising artistic quality and originality.
