Mr Eazi, King Promise share new single That Way
GRAMMY Award-winning artist Mr Eazi and Afro-pop singer King Promise have released a new joint single titled ‘That Way’, marking their second collaboration in less than a year.
Mr Eazi and Promise.
The track follows their 2025 release ‘See What We’ve Done’, which achieved commercial success during the northern hemisphere summer. ‘That Way’ is the second single from the artists’ forthcoming joint album, also titled See What We’ve Done.
‘That Way’ incorporates an interpolation of the Backstreet Boys’ 1999 hit ‘I Want It That Way’, reworking the melody within a contemporary Afro-pop framework. The song blends pop nostalgia with modern African rhythms, reflecting a broader trend of cross-generational musical references in current Afro-beats releases.
The single was produced by GuiltyBeatz and JAE5, both of whom have previously worked with international artists including Beyoncé, Tems, Jorja Smith, J Hus and Dave. Musically, the track centres on mid-tempo rhythms and restrained production, with King Promise’s melodic vocal style complemented by Mr Eazi’s understated delivery. Lyrically, the song focuses on themes of devotion and emotional connection.
A music video for ‘That Way’ has also been released. The video was filmed in London and directed by Charlie Rees, with production by Oculens. It adopts a minimalist visual style intended to reflect the song’s nostalgic and contemporary elements.
The forthcoming joint album will be the first full-length collaborative project by Mr Eazi and King Promise. According to information shared by their teams, the project builds on a series of previous collaborations between the two artists, including ‘Dabebi’, ‘Call Waiting’, ‘Baby I’m Jealous’, ‘Oh Yeah’ and ‘See What We’ve Done’.
The album is expected to explore themes of personal growth, evolving relationships and creative partnership, drawing on the artists’ long-standing professional relationship and shared musical influences. A release date for the full project has not yet been announced.
