Corona Sunsets Festival returns to Cape Town on 21 March
The Corona Sunsets Festival is set to return to Cape Town on 21 March 2026, transforming Clifton’s coastline into a day-long celebration of music and culture. The festival will be headlined by Grammy Award winners Purple Disco Machine and Zakes Bantwini, with performances from Sun El Musician, Msaki and a special sunset set by the Ndlovu Youth Choir.
Zakes Bantwini will perform at the festival.
The event takes place at The Glen Country Club from 12:00 to 23:00 and is designed to combine music, nature and ritual. It forms part of Corona’s “More Than Music” philosophy, which aims to encourage festival-goers to engage intentionally with their surroundings through art installations, live creative expression, local food offerings and interactive experiences such as drum circles and a signature sunset ritual.
German DJ and producer Purple Disco Machine, best known for international hits including ‘Hypnotized’ and ‘Fireworks’, will perform in Cape Town as part of a rare South African appearance. Ranked among Beatport’s Top 100 Artists of all time, he is celebrated for his fusion of nu disco and house music.
Joining him is South African Grammy Award-winning artist Zakes Bantwini, recognised for his contributions to electronic and Afro house music. The local line-up also includes Sun El Musician, performing ahead of his upcoming album, Msaki, DJ Kent, Liquideep, Mila Rose, Blakongo, Roz b2b Housewife and Meek.
A highlight of the festival is expected to be a sunset performance by the internationally acclaimed Ndlovu Youth Choir, known for their emotive harmonies and storytelling.
The festival is positioned as more than a music event, emphasising intentional experiences and human connection. “Corona Sunsets creates space to pause, to be present and to experience music in a meaningful way,” organisers said. “It is a shared moment shaped by sound, setting and the simple act of being outdoors together.”
With its blend of international disco and South African soul, Corona Sunsets Festival continues to offer an immersive experience that celebrates rhythm, nature and cultural connection along Cape Town’s iconic coastline.
