Thabo Mtetwa, popularly known as 'Essential Gift,' is a DJ and producer from the township of Sebokeng in Vaal, South Africa. He draws inspiration from artists such as Atjazz, Jimpster, Fred Everything, Kid Fonque, The Phat Ones, DJ Slugs, Tim Green, and Black Coffee, to mention a few. with his ambition and ageless approach to providing music that truly counts in his targeted niche market, specifically Deep House Music. Essential-Gift has been actively releasing music with well-known performers in the industry, as well as established publishers and labels around the country. His first project features the profound duo ''The Phat Ones'' and the rising vocalist ''Gino Tim,'' back in 2019. As a result, the single took off and opened doors for him to explore his sonic territories within the same niche market.

He became interested in DJing at a young age, and at the age of 13, he began learning how to produce music on computer software. His musical tastes include Deep House, Afro House, Soulful House, Neo-Soul, R&B, Hip-Hop, and jazz.
