Crebolder is a prominent cultural leader and former lawyer, recognised for her role as the first female executive board member of the Rijksmuseum, where she contributed significantly to expanding its international profile. She also holds board positions at Manifesta, Eye Filmmuseum, Vlisco, and the Board of Trustees of TEFAF.
“I am very excited to join the Prince Claus Fund team as interim director, and I look forward to contributing to its success as we are stepping into the 30th anniversary year of the organisation,” Crebolder said.
The appointment follows the conclusion of Marcus Desando’s tenure as director on 31 December 2025. Desando, who has led the Fund for four years, and the Supervisory Board jointly decided that the organisation is entering a new phase, making the timing appropriate for leadership transition.
“I am deeply grateful to the Board, the team, and all our partners and stakeholders for the opportunity to serve the Fund over the past four years,” Desando said. “This period has been one of significant growth, and I am proud to have contributed to work that supports the transformative power of culture.”
During his tenure, Desando guided the Fund through challenging sector-wide conditions, ensuring its programmes continued to operate effectively. Ila Kasem, chair of the Supervisory Board, expressed appreciation for his contributions: “We would like to thank Mr. Desando for his service and dedication over the past four years, and we wish him every success in his future endeavours.”
