SA: Mörda added to Makhelwane Festival line-up
Soweto is gearing up for a weekend of music, culture, and creativity as the Makhelwane Festival returns for its eleventh edition in Johannesburg, South Africa, on 12 December.
Mörda.
Multi-award-winning South African DJ and music producer Mörda joins the line-up, bringing high-energy DJ sets and genre-blending beats to Poka Street and Thesis Concept Store.
MÖRDA will share the stage with Sjava, Monique Bingham, Njelic, Russell Zuma, Fiji Mageba, WAV Gardn, Thandonje and Saul Madiope, alongside DJ sets from Nicky B, DJ Jawz, Musical Maestro, Billion, Tee Illa, and Magneto. His addition adds a fresh, electronic edge to the festival’s mix of soulful house, kwaito, and live performances.
The weekend will kick-off with the AboMazenzela: The Art of Starting, a networking session highlighting creativity and entrepreneurship. Festival-goers can also explore the Lemonade Stand for young entrepreneurs, the Makers Market for local artisans, a street art exhibition curated with TACS, and pop-up food and lifestyle experiences across Soweto.
Makhelwane has grown from a small community gathering into one of Gauteng’s most recognisable township festivals. With MÖRDA on the decks, this year promises electrifying sets, cultural energy, and a true celebration of homegrown talent.
