“Being selected for the Up Next Campaign means a lot to me,” CupidSzn said. “It’s a reminder that the vision is resonating and the journey is just beginning. My fans can expect more artistry and storytelling. We’re not just making music anymore, we’re shaping the sound of Afrobeats.”
Born Stevenson Njoku Anyinachiso in Port Harcourt, the artist has quickly gained recognition as one of Nigeria’s emerging talents. Signed to Mavin Global, he released his debut EP Mythera, which presents a fusion of melody, myth-inspired themes and reflective songwriting. The project includes the tracks ‘Palava’, ‘Super’, ‘Zesty Money’ and ‘Famous’.
CupidSzn began making music after discovering a Juice WRLD video and later taught himself Afrobeats production using digital music apps. After relocating to Lagos with the support of his family, he accumulated more than 10 million career streams before signing with Mavin Global.
As part of his Up Next selection, he will appear on Apple Music’s Up Next playlist, which highlights emerging artists selected by the platform’s global editorial team. The playlist features musicians from a range of genres and aims to introduce new talent to wider audiences.
The global Up Next initiative has previously spotlighted artists including 6lack, Daniel Caesar, H.E.R., Billie Eilish, Mr Eazi, Stefflon Don, Bad Bunny, Juice WRLD, Summer Walker, Burna Boy, Rema, Tems and others.
