Open Call: Market Theatre Foundation chief financial officer

The CFO will play a pivotal role in steering the organisation’s financial strategy, ensuring compliance with key regulations, and maintaining robust financial governance to support MTF’s long-term sustainability.

Key responsibilities:

• Provide strategic financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
• Ensure compliance with the Public Finance Management Act (PFMA) and all relevant legislation.
• Oversee financial policies, internal controls, and operational procedures.
• Lead and implement a long-term financial strategy aligned with the organisation’s objectives.
• Manage audit processes, risk management, and financial governance structures.

Minimum requirements:

• A qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) or equivalent qualification (NQF Level 8).
• At least 10 years of experience in financial management, ideally in the public sector or a cultural institution.
• A minimum of 5 years in senior management.
• Extensive knowledge of PFMA, GRAP, and other applicable financial regulations.
• Excellent leadership, strategic thinking, and communication skills.
