Open call: 2025 Abbara programme funding

The programme is open to independent, non-governmental artistic and cultural initiatives or organisations based in the Arab region, as well as Arab-led initiatives in the diaspora whose work contributes to artistic and cultural production in the Arabic language.

Abbara aims to strengthen collective cultural work and support the growth of the arts and culture sector. It also seeks to address shared challenges faced by independent cultural practitioners across the Arab region.

The programme offers comprehensive support to independent cultural organisations recognised as key contributors to the development of a dynamic and impactful cultural sector. Selected organisations will receive:

• €22 000 (about $25 130) in core funding,
• Training in strategic planning and organisational management,
• Tailored technical support based on a detailed needs assessment, and
• Opportunities for networking with other active organisations in the arts and culture sector.
