Call for applications: Arts Envoy Programme Uganda
The Arts Envoy Programme in partnership with Breakdance Project Uganda is calling on music and dance professionals to apply for its 2018 intake.
The Arts Envoy Programme is an initiative of the US Mission. It fosters cross-cultural understanding and collaboration through concerts, workshops and mentorship projects.
The application deadline is 25 July and each applicant should choose one workshop to attend.
Individuals in the music industry (upcoming artists, arts managers, producers and educators) will be mentored by American artists Toni Blackman, Trinise L Crowder and Denise Stephanie Garcia.
The 2018 programme will cover topics such as How to Build Your Brand and Business, Mental Health and Well-being, Media Promotion, How to Earn From Creativity, Gender and the Entertainment Industry, How to Build and Grow Independent Artist Platforms, How to Build Artist Networks, How to Promote Exchange Between Artists and How to Create Alternative Arts Spaces.
The programme will run from 1 to 15 August with the first workshop talking place at Bax Bar in Jinja on 3 August. The second and third workshops will be held at Sharing Youth Centre Nsambya in Kampala on 7 and 8 August.
Meanwhile, a copyright and neighbouring rights forum will be held at The Square in Kampala on 9 August while two concerts headlined by the three American artists will take place at Bax Bar in Jinja and YMCA in Kampala on 4 and 11 August respectively.
Requirements
All applicants should send the following:
- A filled application form (download below).
- Artist profile/biography (max 800 words).
- A motivation letter (max 500 words).
- Links to your work (max three).
