Open call: Africa Creative Blueprint initiative in Nigeria

ACB is a collaboration between Ascend Studios and USAID, supported by Paramount Nigeria and Venture Garden Group.

The initiative aims to upskill 3 500 Nigerian youth by providing hands-on TV production experience through expert-led workshops, mentorship, and intensive training, while fostering the creation of high-quality, socially impactful TV content. It seeks to nurture local talent and drive industry growth, generating significant revenue for the creative sector and contributing to Nigeria’s economy by offering long-term career opportunities in the industry.

• Music professionals
• Sound designers
• Directors 
• Writers
• Producers
• Production coordinators/managers 
• Editors
• Cinematographers
• Production designers 
• Costume designers
• Assistant directors
• Actors/actresses,

Virtual training dates: 7 to 10 January 2025.

In-person training locations and dates:

• Lagos: 13 to 18 January 2025
• Kano: 3 to 7 February 2025
• Enugu: 3 to 8 February 2025
• Asaba: 10 to 15 February 2025
• Abuja: 10 to 15 February 2025
• Benin: 17 to 22 February 2025

Specialised training:

Lawyers and accountants

• Virtual: 3 to 7 February 2025
• In-person: 10 to 11 February 2025

Production finance professionals (sales agents, distributors)

• Virtual: 17 to 19 March 2025
• In-person (Lagos): 24 to 26 March 2025 & 14 to 17 May 2025

Music professionals

• Virtual: 10 to 15 June 2025
• In-Person: 24 to 28 June 2025

Note:

• Mandatory attendance: All selected participants must attend both virtual and in-person training sessions.
• Post-training employment: 200 graduates will be hired for the cast and crew of a TV production scheduled for April to June 2025.
