Bhanshee is a Zimbabwean rapper, spoken word artist, and creative advocate. She is recognized as the pioneer of Afri-alternative hip-hop, a genre she developed to bridge the gap between contemporary urban lyricism and the experimental textures of African alternative sounds. Known for her genre-bending fluidity, Bhanshee has established herself as a versatile force within the continental music landscape.

Her rapid professional ascent is marked by significant industry recognition and a prolific output. Since 2024, she has earned 11 ZimHipHop Award nominations, securing two wins. Her lyrical authority has led to collaborations and professional engagements with major entities, including Universal Music Group and Mavin Records. She has also received critical endorsement from renowned producer Prestige and mentorship from American lyricist Dee-1.

Performance and International Presence:

A seasoned live performer, Bhanshee’s stagecraft blends rhythmic precision with immersive storytelling. She has performed on global stages across France, Rwanda, Mozambique, Malawi, South Africa, and Ghana. Key international appearances include the ASM Baraza Festival in Accra, Ghana, and the Afrotellers Conference in Johannesburg, South Africa. She has also supported international headliners, including Nasty C.

As a human rights defender, she focuses on climate justice and women's empowerment, collaborating with organizations such as UNICEF and Plan International. She is the founder of Shee, a movement dedicated to sustainable living and personal growth. In the realm of spoken word, she is a highly decorated poet, holding titles as a House of Hunger Poetry Slam champion, winner of the Black Slam Poetry Slam (USA), and a victor at the International Literature Festival.
