EMY Africa Awards 2023: All the nominees
Ghanaian musical artists including Black Sherif, Stonebwoy, Camidoh, KiDi and King Promise have all scored nominations for the 2023 Exclusive Men of the Year Africa (EMY) Awards set to take place later in the year.
Singer King Promise has been nominated for the 2023 EMY Africa Awards.
Now in its seventh year, the Father’s Day-inspired initiative was created to showcase and honour remarkable accomplishments by men and fathers in Ghana and the diaspora. EMY Africa Awards encompass honorary and competitive categories, spanning various fields such as creative arts, business, media, technology and sports.
This year’s nominees were announced at the weekend in Accra, where the main ceremony will be held. It also follows a call for nominations back in April.
Black Sherif, Stonebwoy, Camidoh, KiDi and King Promise were nominated in the Man of the Year (Music) category, while gospel singer Perez Music was shortlisted in the Discovery of the Year category.
Musicians who have emerged winners at previous EMYs include rapper Kofi Kinaata, highlife great Ebo Taylor, the late ethnomusicologist Prof Joseph HK Nketia and gospel artist Joe Mettle.
Fans can power their preferred nominees to victory by liking the post of the nominee on the EMY Africa Awards’ Instagram page or texting their name and the category to the shortcode 1393 (toll-free) across all local networks.
