Feature.fm adds YouTube conversion and attribution data
Music industry marketing and advertising platform Feature.fm has partnered with YouTube on conversion and attribution data, which will see its users get more useful information from smart links which direct to YouTube and YouTube Music.
The deal will see data such as how many streams came as a result of a link. However, the data will only begin flowing after streams reach 50 in a day. Artists and their representatives will get access to Feature.fm’s analytics dashboard to view the information.
The deal “brings complete streaming insights and makes it easier for fans to find your music,” Feature.fm said.
YouTube has over 2 billion monthly logged-in users and every day people watch over a billion hours of video.
Feature.fm's CEO Lior Aharoni said: “Our partnership with YouTube will enable more artists at any stage of their careers to engage fans on the platform and get better insight into how their marketing efforts result in actual consumption of their music.”
Providing smart-links, which direct fans to their preferred streaming service, has been a popular music marketing tool for some time.
The new partnership increases Feature.fm's conversion data deals which include platforms such as Anghami, Boomplay, Qobuz, and Rough Trade.
The move adds to other “deeper plans” the company has with YouTube, Feature.fm said.
Feature.fm joins other platforms such as rival Linkfire which has a number of conversion data deals with services including Boomplay, Anghami, Pandora, Apple Music and YouTube Music.
Feature.fm’s YouTube deal comes on the heels of its recently launched tool for pre-save fan notifications, which automatically send email reminders to fans on release day to listen to your music via their preferred service.
The deal provides more value to artists and their teams who can determine how the results from the links led to streaming the music, or saving it on users' libraries or playlists.
“Notifications are sent for all of Feature.fm’s supported pre-save services including Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, Tidal, SoundCloud and Deezer,” Feature.fm said.
