AFRIMAs appoint Nicolas Pompigne-Mognard to international committee
The All Africa Music Awards (AFRIMAs) today announced the appointment of Nicolas Pompigne-Mognard to its international committee – which comprises a cohort of music professionals and other prominent stakeholders.
Pompigne-Mognard is the founder and chairman of pan-African communications consultancy APO Group, and the announcement comes on the heels of APO’s appointment as the official public relations agency of the awards.
In his new role, Pompigne-Mognard will leverage his vast experience in African business and communications, helping to advance the AFRIMAs’ vision of championing African culture and shining a light on positive African stories.
“Nicolas and APO Group have built relationships with some of the most prominent public and private institutions, sporting organisations and multinational companies operating in Africa, making them well-placed to help AFRIMA achieve its core mission of a peaceful, prosperous and integrated Africa through the celebration of excellence in African music and culture,” the AFRIMAs said.
“We are delighted to welcome Nicolas to the AFRIMA International Committee,” AFRIMAs president and executive producer Michael Dada said. “As the founder and chairman of APO Group, Nicolas has always been committed to changing the narrative about Africa, and elevating the continent on the world stage.”
Pompigne-Mognard said: “AFRIMA is a hugely important organisation within the African music industry. It provides a global spotlight for the best African talent and demonstrates the universal power of music as a symbol of hope and unity in the African continent. I’m thrilled to be joining the AFRIMA International Committee and working with others who share my vision for helping Africa realise its potential.”
Last month, the AFRIMAs announced Makhtar Diop as country director for Senegal to reflect the platform’s principle of inclusiveness and African unification through music.
The 2022 AFRIMAs will be held from 8 to 11 December, climaxing with a ceremony that will be broadcast live in more than 80 countries around the world.
