Call for applications: University of Tasmania research scholarships
The University of Tasmania (UTAS) in Australia is accepting applications from international researchers for its research scholarship programme.
The Tasmania Graduate Research Scholarships (TGRS) are available across all research disciplines and will be awarded to international and domestic applicants with demonstrated research ability. The scholarship duration is three years and six months for a doctoral candidate and two years for a masters' candidate.
UTAS is a public research university primarily located in Australia. It was ranked in the top 10 research universities in Australia and the top two per cent of universities worldwide. It aims to provide ongoing leadership within the Australian community and to contribute to the cultural, economic, and social development of their island home.
Interested applicants can apply in the following courses:
- Arts, Law, and Education.
- Business and Economics.
- Health and Medicine.
- Sciences and Engineering.
Individuals from the following African countries can apply:
- Algeria, Egypt, Mauritania, Somalia, Djibouti, Libya, Morocco, Sudan and Tunisia.
Note:
- Successful applicants must have completed at least four years of tertiary education studies and have achieved at least an upper second-class honours degree or equivalent.
- Awards are only available to those who will be undertaking a full-time research Masters or Doctoral degree in 2020.
- Candidates must not be receiving another equivalent award, scholarship or salary to undertake the proposed programme (if that income is higher than 75% of the base RTP stipend rate).
- Income unrelated to the applicant's higher degree by research (e.g. employment income) or income received for the candidate's higher degree by research but not to support general living costs is not to be considered.
Successful researchers will receive the following:
- An annual stipend of $9 876.
- Relocation allowance Award holders cannot claim for visa, accommodation, or meal costs as part of the relocation claim. Award holders can be reimbursed for up to $1 425 in total upon production of receipts.
