Tega Ethan
Bio
Tega Ethan is a Nigerian singer-songwriter.
In 2017 he moved to Ibadan, a city in the south-west of Nigeria, to be closer to the major entertainment hub of the country, Lagos. He began to build his career by performing at events, uploading covers on the internet and sometimes busking in public spaces. In 2018 he started getting booked by organisers in Lagos who had found his videos on the internet and this saw him travelling frequently to perform. A year later, after writing hundreds of songs and playing dozens of gigs he was the opening act at Johnny Drille's Lagos concert.
During the pandemic, he wrote and released a song called "when the world ends" then followed up with a debut EP “McCarthy Street.”
He has since then progressively made a name for himself as a singer-songwriter, featuring on stages across the globe, from London and Saudi-Arabia, to Lagos.
Tega Ethan won the Bob Dylan Center Fellowship in 2024.
