Simmz

Simmz is an emcee from Cape Town who follows the underground classic ethos of boom-bap with elements of spaza and is a member of the crew, One1 Muvmnt, alongside emcees such as Qhawe, Ruffkat, Ill Dre, Nasty X and Stherra Tonderai.

His motivation to make conscious hip-hop with a distinct local flavour, without the now ubiquitous turn-up vibe, means that his music is real, raw and in some ways refreshing. Its become the path less traveled by young aspiring emcees, but commendable in an age that sometimes forgets the roots of hip-hop golden era.
